In the age of ‘high technology’ censorship has become a huge issue with respect to the idea’s and convictions that people communicate. Its my desire to create a community that allows the exploration of idea’s that skirt the very comfort levels in what we consider our truths to be. They say that young children do not have the ability the tell the difference between truths and lies. As a result our youngest most impressionable adults do not have the capability of filtering the knowledge and information that they are bombarded with during their younger years.
How many parents in North America have taught their children all about the myth of Santa Claus without even looking at the fact that by telling our children a husky man dressed in red comes rushing down our chimney to give them presents is setting an example of children learning that its okay for their parents to lie to them? How does the affect the ability for critical thinking as that child gets older? I am not here to draw conclusions for anyone. I am here to only ask questions and to encourage a level of open critical thinking.
I am hoping through a blog and social media that I can build a small to medium sized interconnected community of those individuals who are not only discussing these topics but sharing this mindset of critical thinking as we begin to move into a world where this type of cooperation and critical thinking is incredibly important.
